Settlng in ...

Veronica and Skye - Veronica has worked with the Pamas for close to 30 years.

View from the kitchen

Monkey chillin' at Monkeyland Primate Reserve.  This was a great little outing - all the primates are rescued from a variety of not-so-good situations and re-established into a forest setting.

Indigenous tree - medicinally used for treating stomach cramps.

Cousins - Ben and Kai observing lemurs in the trees with our guide Sirgin.

Super fancy hotel for polo players, and games - also where Josh teaches tennis lessons to guests.

Yogesh and his unbelievable garden!

Pippin near the top of Yogesh's property - the border between landscaped land and the as-yet un-touched pieces.

Yogesh's new viewing platform - he built it himself - perfect for viewing his garden and the Knysna lagoon below.

A protea flower in Yogesh's garden.

Nice pose Kai!

Yogesh's garden is full of little soapstone figures throughout.

Having tea inside Yogesh and Kheli's house - cosy, yet cool.

On the deck

Pippin and the "space man."

Entrance at Yogesh and Kheli's.

And the fun begins

Wild early morning South African coast!

Pippin has been waiting to write this in the sand for years!  Finally we are here.

Sand and surf, just waiting for a skimboard.

First morning walk, 7am, at Keurboomstrand beach.

Where Pippin is the MOST at home on the beach and in the surf!

Okay - Skye is really having as much fun as Pippin, even though it doesn't look like it here!!!  The waves were INTENSE!

Kai and his Auntie Elbie.

Lovely fruit at the local Padstal (farm store) called Thyme and Again.

The glorious Robberg from a distance.  And yes . . . the water really is this colour!

Cousins!  Ben and Kai.

Cousins! Pippin and Josh

Entrance view

Nothin' like hangin' with cousins in the pool!

Josh and his cutie girlfriend Dana!

A real South African braai

Inside the Padstal - savoury and sweet pies abound.  Yum!

More beach time!

Family - Rina, Marie, and Skye

Arrival in Africa

Winging our way in to Port Elizabeth - minutes before landing - Christmas day.
Kai looking just a little travel weary, but nervously excited about our arrival.
Brothers!  Ronato and his older brother, together in South Africa at last.
On the ride from Port Elizabeth to Plettenberg Bay - a two-plus hour journey.  The kids finally succumbed to the fatigue of travel!
We have arrived!  Guess where Pippin headed first?!
Starting to lap up the South African Christmas vibe and catching up with family.
The Christmas table that we arrived to.  Wow!

Yogesh (Ronato's dad) and his new schwanky, super comfy car.

Christmas dinner - with the whole crew.
Pippin enjoying the heat.
First South African sunset for Kai and Pippin.
Cousin Josh and Oumi Marie (Ronato's mom) having a nice cuddle.
Three generations of Pamas.
Sweet cousin Ben in his new Christmas hat.
And the sun goes down on our first day in Africa . . .
